Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do you repair glasses?  We do simple repairs (no welding/soldering), adjust, and clean glasses. If your glasses were purchased from us, we can honor warranties for damage to your lenses or frames. Please call us for details.
  2. How long does an appointment take? An appointment typically takes thirty to forty-five minutes, though it may take longer depending on your needs or if you are experiencing an eye health problem.
  3. What does a comprehensive eye exam include? A comprehensive eye exam includes a vision assessment and refraction to determine an eyeglass prescription, an eye health screening, and recommendations for follow up care.
  4. What if I want contact lenses? Our doctor can fit you for contact lenses at your appointment. A contact lens fitting is an extra service and includes any follow up visits you may need, to fine tune the prescription. If you are new to contact lenses, you will need additional training, so allow additional time for your visit.
  5. Do you take my insurance? We are in network with Vision Service Plan (VSP), EyeMed, Medicare, Colorado Medicaid, and many other vision and medical care plans. Please visit our website or call for details.
  6. What if I don’t have insurance? We offer a discount on an eye exam and purchase of glasses for our self-pay patients.
  7. Will my eyes be dilated at my eye exam? Every patient is different. The doctor may need to dilate your eyes to get a good look at your retina, or the back of the eye. We also offer retinal imaging to our patients. Often, a good photograph of the back of the eye is enough for the ocular health assessment and creates a permanent record of the appearance of your retina.
  8. How often should I get an eye exam? We recommend a comprehensive eye exam every year. An annual exam helps us meet your vision needs and is an important part of eye disease prevention.
  9. Do you provide emergency care? We provide emergency care for eye problems. Please call our office if you are experiencing an ocular emergency.
  10. Do I need an appointment to purchase glasses? You do not need an appointment to purchase glasses. Feel free to stop by our office to browse frames and discuss lens options with our staff.
  11. I have a prescription from another doctor. Can I purchase eyeglasses from you? We honor valid eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions from other doctors.
  12. What if I want to reuse my frame or purchased a frame somewhere else? One of our opticians will look over your frame to assess the frame’s condition and have you sign a waiver releasing our office and the lab from any responsibility if the frame is damaged while the lenses are being made.
